Crickets Program

Engaging the body and the mind in joyful music-making through musical games and movement, Crickets gently encourages very young children to explore the voice as their first true instrument.

Class Information and Rates

No audition or prior music training is required.

Crickets is a fun, play-based music and movement class for boys and girls ages 4 to 6. Trained teachers engage the body and the mind in joyful music-making through musical games and movement. Offered by Children’s Chorus of Maryland and School of Music (CCM), Crickets gently encourages young children to explore the voice as their first true instrument.


Saturdays for 10 or 12 weeks

FEE $200 for 10 weeks (including materials)
$216 for 12 weeks (including materials)
DURATION 50-minute classes once a week
for 10 or 12 weeks
TIMES Session A: Saturdays 9:00 am to 9:50 am

Session C: Saturdays 9:00 am to 9:50 am
Session D: Saturdays 10:00 am to 10:50 am

Meet your teachers

Len Langrick


Len LangrickA native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Len Langrick teaches lower school music for Indian Creek School, Crownsville. Len holds Level III Kodaly certification from Silver Lake College and Level III Orff-Schulwerk certification from West Chester University. Additionally, Len has completed certifications in the Feierabend Association of Music Education’s Conversational Solfege curriculum training and Musikgarten’s early childhood music and movement curriculum. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in choral music education and organ performance from Western Michigan University, and his Master of Music degree in organ performance from the Indiana University School of Music. Len has served as director of the Handel Children’s Choir of Baltimore and as director of music and organist for congregations in Maryland, North Carolina, Indiana and Michigan. In his spare time Len enjoys honing his accordion skills, particularly to accompany the folk dances of his music classes.
