Music Education Program Our
curriculum, taught by trained and qualified music educators, is an
adaptation of the Kodály approach to music education, modified by
Gordon Music Learning Theory.
The formal training levels meet on Wednesday evenings, Saturday mornings. Those levels are:
Furthermore, they have had intensive training in healthy vocal technique from childhood through adolescence, leading to a personal understanding of the voice, its physical properties and its care. Children in CCM also gain important experience with self-paced learning, mental concentration, a heightened personal and social awareness, and flexibility. Ours is one of the oldest, most distinguished and enviable programs of choral music education for a community children's choir in the United States. We are proud to serve as a model of how to effectively and efficiently teach music to children and what they can accomplish musically. CCM Faculty and Staff
